A vibrant six-piece, horn-infused party band hailing from Southern Colorado. With four original projects under their belt, they draw major inspiration from artists like Barenaked Ladies, Reel Big Fish, Foo Fighters, 311. Their high-energy covers reimagine popular hits with catchy horn riffs, giving them the signature “Martini Shot flavor.”

A staple at local festivals and concert series, The Martini Shot has shared the stage with iconic acts like Eddie Money, Blue Öyster Cult, Foghat, Firefall, Pure Prairie League, and Great White. Established in 2000, the band is comprised of seasoned professionals, many of whom are current or former local music teachers, showcasing their passion for performance and education. The name “Martini Shot” is inspired by the Hollywood slang for the last shoot of the day, reflecting the band’s celebratory spirit and dedication to entertaining audiences.

TINY POCKETS started in the summer of 2023. Ken, the guitarist and bassist, hired some friends for what was supposed to be a one-off gig. That one gig turned quickly into a dedicated band, playing as often as possible everywhere they could in Colorado. Tiny Pockets is based in Colorado Springs, but has played in Denver, Manitou, Pueblo, Woodland Park, Castle Rock – and all the way down to Durango! They are known for their huge variety of styles and artists, and their infectious energy that gets crowds up and dancing every time. They play covers like Whitney Houston, Taylor Swift, AC/DC, Tim McGraw, The Cranberries, Shaggy, and many more. Tiny Pockets strives to play as many genres as possible so everyone has something they can sing along to – a “pocket” for everyone. anywhere. The name “Tiny Pockets” is both a nod to their goal of the variety in music, and the only thing the whole band could agree on.
Ken is from New York – specifically the Bronx – and works full time as a music teacher in Denver. He loves to take off his shirt. Arissa, who plays keyboard, ukulele and saxophone, is from New Jersey and is also a full time music teacher at Colorado Music Institute alongside Ken. Her hair sometimes has its own gravity. Matt, our drummer and videographer, is from Boston and works in marketing. He has only worn a bright color three times in his life (and once was for the band!). Jeannie, our vocalist and tambourinist, is the only one Colorado born, and she works in professional theater – mostly as a lighting director at the Pikes Peak Center. She is so loud you can hear her laugh through noise cancelling headphones.
All four members are long-time musicians who have played in bands before and grew up making music – but all have said that Tiny Pockets is something special. The Pockets truly love playing together and hope to continue to play across Colorado and further. They are deeply grateful for the support of their family and partners, and all would like to send love to their dogs.
