An unforgettable night of world-class musicianship arrives with an intimate evening featuring Peter Mayer and Colorado Springs own Joe Uveges.
Minnesota’s Peter Mayer has been singing and songwriting full-time for over 20 years, performing in venues across the United States and beyond and is known for his rich songwriting and masterful guitar work creating a deeply engaging blend of folk, rock, and storytelling that resonates long after the final note.
He writes songs for a small planet–songs that celebrate life on earth and the mysterious and wondrous fact of our existence–songs about the vast cosmos that surrounds us and how we are a part of it all. He also writes songs about dress hats, pumpkins and pajamas, and even love and freight trains just like a good folk musician should. His music has been performed by artists like Kathy Mattea, David Wilcox, Claudia Schmidt, Anne Hills, Priscilla Herdman, Darryl Purpose, Billy Jonas, and Ronny Cox, to name a few. His work has been included in song books, church hymnals, and folk radio playlists across the country. Peter has eleven albums to his credit, and has sold over 100,000 of them. He lives in Stillwater, Minnesota with his wife and two daughters.
Joe Uveges is a longtime Colorado Springs–based singer, songwriter, and performer whose career spans more than three decades on the Front Range music scene. A native of Schoharie, New York, Uveges built his musical identity through years of bar bands, coffeehouses, and acoustic venues before establishing himself as a respected regional artist known for his storytelling, humor, and deeply personal songwriting.
Over the course of his career, Uveges has written more than 1,000 songs and released multiple original albums, earning local honors including several “Best Of” awards in Colorado Springs for both his recordings and live performances. His work blends elements of folk, country, and Americana, delivered with an engaging, conversational style that connects easily with audiences in both intimate and concert settings. A seasoned performer, he has logged thousands of shows across the country—appearing as a solo artist, in collaborations, and with groups such as the BUS Band, where he contributes vocals, guitar, and percussion. His performances are often described as heartfelt, spontaneous, and interactive, with a knack for improvisation and on-the-spot songwriting that makes each show unique.
Beyond the stage, Uveges is also known for the depth of his personal journey, which has influenced both his music and his connection with audiences. His work often reflects themes of faith, resilience, and human experience, giving his performances an added emotional resonance.
Whether performing in theaters, festivals, or house concerts, Joe Uveges remains a cornerstone of the Colorado Springs music community—an artist whose longevity is matched by his authenticity and ability to turn everyday stories into memorable songs.
This special evening offers more than a concert; it’s a chance to experience the artistry up close, in a setting where the connection between performer and audience takes center stage. Expect thoughtful lyrics, intricate musicianship, and the kind of chemistry that only comes from years of collaboration and shared passion for the craft.
Perfect for music lovers who appreciate authenticity and skill, this is a night that invites you to listen deeply, laugh often, and leave inspired.
